A unique community of nonprofit changemakers

Catalyst Kitchens members have saved a collective $2.2 million through our vendor discounts & benefits.

Join a community of foodservice job training programs united around a shared goal: to increase access to job training and prepare students for employment in the hospitality industry.

Access national insights, best practices, and key performance indicators to evaluate the health of your program among peer foodservice job training nonprofits.

Membership Eligibility

Our membership network is focused on breaking the cycle of homelessness, hunger, and poverty through job training rooted in foodservice. All Catalyst Kitchens members serve students with barriers to employment seeking a fresh start in the culinary industry.

To get the most out of what Catalyst Kitchens membership offers, we recommend that all new members meet the below criteria:

501(c)3 status: Our materials are tailored to nonprofit programs; all Catalyst Kitchens members are declared as 501(c)3 nonprofits.

Reliable funding: Member organizations must have an annual operating budget and a reliable funding stream. If your organization is just getting started, please visit our consulting page to see if our technical assistance program can help you get started.

The Catalyst Kitchens Model: Organizations that are aligned with our program model will benefit most from membership resources. This means your organization prepares individuals with employment barriers for work in the foodservice industry, provides wraparound services to enrolled students either internally or through local partnerships, and operates social enterprise businesses and/or serves community meals to vulnerable populations.

Strive for high program standards: We believe in thriving together. Our members strive to meet high standards and are committed to meeting their student's needs. We ask our members to willingly share programming best practices, measure programming outcomes, and share their results with the broader network.

Costs of Membership

We strive to make our membership accessible to organizations of all shapes and sizes. Our annual membership dues are based on a sliding scale according to the organization's operating budget.
