What is an IDEA Group?
Our IDEA groups are an opportunity to connect with fellow member professionals in similar roles to discuss shared topics related to your work. These groups meet every other month virtually to bring members together to share ideas and resources to take back to your organization.
What should I expect?
IDEA groups serve as an open and informal space for peer connection and dialogue. Calls are designed to promote collaboration and we ask all participants to share resources and knowledge freely to work together towards our shared goal of serving student trainees to the best of our ability. Each IDEA group features a specific discussion topic and is recorded for those who cannot attend.
Who should join?
Each IDEA group focuses on a different aspect of foodservice job training social enterprise programs. We expect that different calls will appeal to different professionals at member organizations. If you are interested in a topic that is outside of your current professional role, please join us! IDEA groups are open to all interested in the featured discussion topic.
How do I join an IDEA group?
Our IDEA groups are for staff of Catalyst Kitchens member programs. Find our IDEA groups page on the members portal to sign up for the session you're interested in attending. You will receive email notifications from the Catalyst Kitchens discussion lead about the upcoming call.
The IDEA Groups:
Job Training & Student Success
This group discusses topics regarding student recruitment, culinary curriculum, life skills, job placement, and increasing your program’s student retention and graduation rates. Members who work in case management, student services, student training, culinary trainers, similar roles, or with an interest in the field are invited to join.
All Things Development & Communications
This group discusses topics such as social enterprise marketing, fundraising campaigns, social media, email campaigns, event planning, and public funding sources. Members who work in development, marketing, communications, similar roles, or with an interest in the field are invited to join.
Operationalize: Social Enterprise
This group discusses topics such as menu planning, managing labor costs, developing meal contracts, managing teams, and maintaining consistent food quality within a training model. Professionals that work in foodservice management, operations, food production, similar roles, or with an interest in the field are invited to join.
