City Light's First Student Graduation!
We are excited to celebrate with Catalyst Kitchens member City Light Community Ministries as they graduated their first class last week! With support from our Catalyst Consulting team, City Light celebrates five graduates from their first culinary class. Each graduation has successfully completed 12 weeks of job training and received a Certificate of Completion in Culinary Arts, a Mercer Knives kit through our membership discount to get them started with excellent equipment, and a copy of the Food Lover's Companion to continue their food education.
Graduates prepared their celebratory meal for about 60 guests with the help of local Chef Cody Johnson, Executive Chef of Catering at Chartwells of Ablilene Christian University. Graduates, family, friends, & staff enjoyed an arugula & parmesan salad with lemon vinaigrette, prok carnitas with borracho beans & spanish rice, and tres leches for dessert, a traditional Mexican milk cake.
All graduates continue to work with City Light staff to develop their future plans. One graduate is currently employed, another has decided to pursue their education, and three are currently seeking employment.
Congratulations to the graduates and to City Light's programming staff for making their training program a reality! Our consulting team has worked with the City Light team over the last year to build their programming structure, we are thrilled to celebrate your first graduates and cannot wait for the many graduations to come.
