Tiffany brings strong firsthand experience within community outreach, student intake and food service business operations at FareStart to her role as Program Development Manager. her academic and professional background in community development also inform her work support the incubation and launch of programs in communities across the country.

Close to 40% of the Catalyst Kitchens member network serves disconnected youth. In May 2019, we held our first Youth & Young Adult Workshop to bring these programs together for an inspiring week in New Orleans full of learning and valuable connection.

Corinne brings experience to her role of Communications Coordinator from her background in event planning, international development undergraduate degree, and her passion for the foodservice job training social enterprise model. Her career goals are devoted to lifting others out of the cycle of poverty through economic empowerment through employment/workforce development. She previously served FareStart as a Catering Captain, Catalyst Kitchens as Program Associate, and currently manages all of Catalyst Kitchens communications efforts through email marketing campaigns, website development, written materials, social media, physical promotional materials, and internal communications. 

"If I wouldn't have gone through this program, there is no way I was just going to step out on faith and go and do a catering business,” Gioia says. Gioia served as president of Liberty Kitchen's Youth Leadership Council, starting her on the path to success in the food industry.

For students with adverse and traumatic experiences in their past, mindfulness assists with bodily awareness, emotional regulation, pain management and relief, and in alleviating PTSD symptoms. Each morning of the Café Reconcile program, students will participate in a mindfulness exercise led by a program instructor to begin the day in a positive way.

There are 4.9 million young people in America between 16-24 years old who are out of school or not working. That’s 1 in 7 young people that are disconnected from our economy. At the same time, we know that early employment experiences give youth exposure to the workplace and can set young people on a path towards a living wage career.
