One – we train unemployed and under employed individuals in culinary arts and life skills so that we may help to place them in meaningful sustainable jobs. Two – we utilize these students to produce ready to heat meals for our neighbors in NWNC who struggle to feed themselves and their families.  Three – we engage in several revenue generating social enterprises that help us to sustain our not-for profit activities.

Social Enterprises: Restaurant, Catering, Shelter Meals/Soup Kitchen, Food Manufacturing

We are really most proud of our residency program.  As we looked around the country there is really nothing else exactly like it - long-term advanced training, paying a living wage while they are getting that training, and doing it in a sustainable business operation all at the same time.    We think it is pretty ground-breaking and we are proud of that now that we've had eighteen months to look back on it

“Our slogan at Providence is, ‘Feed your appetite, nourish your community,’”
